At the recent Detroit 4Fest, Jeep announced that the Wrangler Willys trim will be available with the Xtreme Recon Package for 2022 models. With this announcement, the 2022 Willys trim joins the Wrangler Rubicon and Wrangler Rubicon 392 as the only Jeep models available with the Xtreme Recon Package and 35-inch tires.
“The new Jeep Wrangler Willys with Xtreme Recon Package gives our passionate customers another great option for straight-from-the-factory 35-inch tires,” said Jim Morrison, Vice President, Jeep Brand North America. “Named after the original Jeep utility vehicle, the Willys holds special meaning to the Jeep brand, and we’re excited to enhance the new Wrangler Willys with 35-inch BF Goodrich KO2 tires.”
What is the “Willys” model?
Technically, it is called the Jeep “Willys Wheeler” package. This package is a Jeep trim package that offers special off-roading components and is distinguished by special retro styling. In particular, the Willys packages include: a gloss black grille, bumper appliques, a hood decal, “Trail Rated” badge, “4-Wheel Drive” swing gate decal, tinted windows, black dash, and cloth seats.
What does the Jeep Wrangler Willys with the Xtreme Recon Package include?
In addition to the standard Jeep Wrangler Willys features, the Xtreme Recon Package includes:

- Anti-lock four-wheel-disc performance brakes
- LT315/70R17C, 35-inch, BF Goodrich KO2 all-terrain tires
- 17-inch by 8-inch beadlock capable rims
- Swing gate reinforcement with “4-Wheel Drive” decal
- 4.56:1 axle ratio
