What’s new for the 2023 Wagoneer?
As was previously mentioned, the Wagoneer brings two new options to the table in the 2023 model year. The first available option is the Wagoneer L. This takes the Wagoneer, already classified as a full-size SUV, and extends the wheelbase by seven inches and the overall length by a full foot. This paves the way for an additional 15.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row when compared to the standard wheelbase Wagoneer. Additional space is also added to the third-row legroom and passenger volume. Another newly available option is the Carbide Edition. The Wagoneer Carbide Edition is a special package available for the Wagoneer Series II. This gives the Wagoneer a blacked-out appearance with a Diamond Black grille, front and rear fascia, and door flares. Meanwhile, Gloss Black covers the door sill cladding, roof rails, grille rings, side mirrors, wheels, and headlight rings. The blacked-out look continues into the cabin with a black suede headliner framing a tri-pane panoramic sunroof, Global Black leather seats, and smoke accent stitching.
What Features Come Standard with the 2023 Wagoneer?
To gain a buzz in the luxury SUV segment, an SUV must come with a lot of standard features. Even opting for the entry-level trim, you’ll get premium exterior features, including 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, LED taillights, LED fog lights, remote start, and heated/power-adjustable side mirrors with turn signal integration. Getting inside the 2023 Wagoneer, you’ll find a customizable 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster in front of a comfortable leather-wrapped steering wheel, eight seats, three-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, Alpine premium audio with 10 speakers, and Jeep’s latest Uconnect 5 software displayed on a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen. Lastly, the Wagoneer comes well-equipped with an array of high-tech driver aids, including active lane management, automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, blindspot monitoring, and full-speed forward collision mitigation.
2023 Wagoneer Engine and Drivetrain Options
Another welcome addition to the 2023 Wagoneer lineup is a new engine. While the base-level engine remains the same, the new Hurricane engine is available. Standard equipment for the base-level Wagoneer is a 5.7-Liter V8 HEMI, which produces 392 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the Series II, Carbide, and Series II trims come with the all-new Hurricane engine. This is a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six-cylinder engine. The all-new Hurricane engine lays down a satisfying 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque while maintaining a 15% improvement in fuel efficiency when compared to the larger V8 engine. The 2023 Wagoneer comes standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission powering a rear-wheel drive system. However, you can choose a Wagoneer equipped with 4×4 in the form of Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II, and Quadra-drive II with an electronic limited-slip rear differential.
