What are the powertrain options for the 2022 Wrangler?

The 2022 Jeep Wrangler returns with the famed 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine. This pushes out 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. With eTorque mild-hybrid technology, the V6 engine provides low end torque for impressive starts and smooth rock crawling. The V6 engine is mated to a standard 6-speed manual transmission, while a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission is optional. The 2.0L turbocharged I-4 engine offers drivers 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Four-door Wrangler models are available with a 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine that pumps out 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. Two exclusive engines are available within the Wrangler lineup. First is the 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain, available for the Sahara, Rubicon and High Altitude trims. This mates a 2.0L turbocharged I4 engine with two electric generators for 375 horsepower, 470 lb-ft of instant torque, and 56 MPG. Lastly the Rubicon 392 model comes with a 392-cubic inch 6.4L V8 engine with 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.
