What Engines Power the 2022 Jeep Gladiator?
The power of the Gladiator is supplied by your choice of two possible engines. The first option comes standard on all trim levels, and is the potent 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. An 8-speed automatic transmission is an available option, but either way this powertrain will bring you 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque! The Gladiator also comes standard with 4-wheel drive across the board for maximum traction. The second available engine is the 3.0-liter diesel V6, which bumps up the torque output to an impressive 442 lb-ft, along with 260 horsepower. This engine mates exclusively with the 6-speed manual transmission, and is available to all trim levels besides the Mojave, which uses the V6 to soar over desert terrain. When properly equipped, the Gladiator has a maximum towing capacity of 7,650 pounds, and can haul up to 1,200 pounds of payload in its five-foot flatbed. Its 4X4 system also comes with a two-speed transfer case with both high and low-range gearing, so you can tackle rocky terrain, while also performing well on flat land!

When it comes to its appearance, the Gladiator closely resembles the Jeep Wrangler, with the addition of a five-foot truck bed. The Mojave is uniquely designed for beaches, deserts, and dunes, with a 1-inch front lift, a reinforced frame, and high-clearance fender flares. It also comes with FOX internal bypass shocks, so that you can stay in control while driving on the sand.
