What Powers the 2022 Jeep Compass?
All version of the 2022 Compass comes with the same engine and its suits the Compass well! When you lift the hood, you’ll be greeted with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers a robust 177 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel-drive is standard on the Sport and Latitude models, while all-wheel-drive comes standard on the Latitude Lux trim and above. All four-wheel-drive models get a six-speed automatic transmission, while all-wheel-drive versions of the Compass have a swift shifting nine-speed automatic transmission. Towing is solid for a vehicle in this class as those with all-wheel-drive can tow up to 2,000 pounds. In addition, fuel economy has always been a big seller for the Compass, and the 2022 version is no exception, as you can get up to 31 mpg on the highway.

If you are looking for a safe vehicle that you can take on and off the road, the Compass is your best bet as it comes with all the latest safety systems, including forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian/cyclist detection, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and a backup camera. Rear-cross traffic alert also comes standard.
What Higher Level Trims of the Compass Offer
After the base Sport trim, the 2022 Compass comes with four additional levels with tons of luxury, tech, and off-road items. With the Latitude, you get more creature comforts such as premium cloth/vinyl seats, a leather shift knob, ambient interior lighting, 17-inch alloy wheels, and automatic headlights. You can also add wonderful options such as a wireless charger, heated front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Higher trims, such as the Latitude Lux, add more luxury items, including leather, heated front seats, 18-inch wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, remote start, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen. If you want more luxury, the Limited has you covered with a power driver’s seat with lumbar control, rain-sensing wipers, and more. Those looking for off-road features should choose the Trailhawk trim as it has a Jeep Active Drive Low 4×4 system with Rock mode, hill-descent control, and a 30-degree approach angle. You also get an extra inch of ground clearance.
