What powers the 2022 Dodge Durango?
There are several powerful engine options available for the Dodge Durango, and which one you get will depend on the trim level you go with. On the base trim SXT, you get a 3.6-liter V6 that pumps out a solid 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque and pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This engine is also standard on the GT trim. On the R/T trim, you get the first of the V8 engine options. In this case, it’s a 5.7-liter V8 that pumps out an awe-inspiring 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque and pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The last engine option comes standard on the SRT, and its 6.4-liter V8 rips out 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel-drive is standard on most trims, but all-wheel-drive is available. On the SRT trim, all-wheel-drive comes standard.
What can you tell me about the features of the Durango?
There are five trim levels available for the Durango, and each one comes with an astonishing amount of features. The base trim level SXT is one of the best-equipped base trims out there as it comes with LED headlights and foglights, 16-inch wheels, heated mirrors, load-leveling suspension, a power driver’s seat, rear parking sensors, bright roof rails, tri-zone automatic climate control, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Moving up to the GT trim, you get more impressive features such as a remote start, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a power liftgate. You also have the option of a 10.1-inch touchscreen of a back-seat entertainment system. The R/T trim is worth getting as it ups the Durangos game with a muscular appearance package, sport-tuned steering and suspension, leather/suede upholstery, heated front seats, and a memory driver’s seat. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available. If it’s luxury you’re after, then we recommend the Citadel trim as it has Nappa leather seats, ventilated front seats, a power sunroof, and heated second-row captain’s chairs. Finally, we have the SRT 392, which on top of its superior power, also has Brembo brakes, a Bilstein high-performance adaptive damping suspension, SRT Performance Pages and drive modes, and a flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters.
What safety systems can I get for the Durango?
Every trim level of the Dodge Durango comes with advanced safety features designed to keep you and your family safe no matter where you travel. On the base SXT trim Blind-Spot Monitoring, and Rear-Cross Traffic Detection comes standard. This handy system monitors the areas around and behind your Durango so you can make safer lane changes and back up easier. On the GT, you have the option of the GT Plus package, which has a Forward Collision Warning system that will alert you to a possible frontal collision, Adaptive Cruise Control which will allow the Durango to maintain a pre-set distance between it and the traffic ahead, and a Lane Departure Warning system which will alert you when you’re about to drift outside of the painted lines.
